The Ad Hoc Tick Borne Disease Action Committee held a meeting on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook, CT

MINUTES

Present:  Mark Alexander, Kirk Blanchard, Neil Chaudhary, David Delia, Mary Gaudet-Wilson, Peter Licht, Michele McLeod, George Miller; Absent:  Robert Grossman, Kim Harrison and Maggie Shaw; Also Present:  Pat Boily and Dave Shugarts

Dr. McLeod convened the meeting at 8:06 p.m.  

Approval of Minutes:  

Dr. Chaudhary motioned to add the review and approval of the February 23, 2011 minutes to the agenda.  Mr. Blanchard seconded the motion.  Motion approved unanimously.  

Dr. Chaudhary motioned to approve the minutes of February 23, 2011.  Seconded by Mr. Blanchard.  Motion approved unanimously as written.

Ms. Gaudet-Wilson motioned to approve the minutes of March 2, 2011.  Seconded by Mr. Delia.  Motion approved unanimously as amended.

Discussion Final Draft Report:

Vaccine Solution – Dr. Licht discussed this section of the draft report.  

The  Forest Section – The committee members discussed the Yale Forestry Student’s study.  Ms. Gaudet-Wilson wrote a summary of their report.  Ms. Gaudet-Wilson will ask the Yale students what they meant when they referred to the Deer and Tick report.   All committee members will read the Yale Forestry Student’s report for a future discussion.

Defining the Problem and Speaker Summaries – These items were tabled.

Municipal Summary – Mr. Alexander reviewed the changes made to this section of the report.  

Review of Report Status and Remaining Tasks – The committee members will review the report and watch the video of the presentation done by the Yale School of Forestry students.  The bibliography needs to be completed.

Public Comments - none

Adjournment Mr. Alexander motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 pm.  Mr. Delia seconded the motion.  Motion was approved unanimously.
